Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Fundación Mundo Sano (“Mundo Sano”) processes and protects the personal data of people who use the website https://atendiendochagas.mundosano.org (the “Site”).
Mundo Sano processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and applicable data protection law. For users in Argentina, Act 25.326 on Personal Data Protection also applies.

What data we process and why
You can browse most of the Site without providing personal data. We process personal data in the following cases:
- Network account. When you register we process your first name, surname, email address and password (stored encrypted) together with the professional details you complete (country, discipline, areas of expertise, position, institution and experience with Chagas disease). You may optionally add an avatar, phone number and LinkedIn profile. The purpose is to create and manage your account and give you access to resources for professionals. The legal basis is performance of the service you request.
- Directory of professionals. Your profile (name, country, discipline, areas, position, institution, LinkedIn and avatar, if uploaded) is visible to registered members of the Network. You can hide it from your profile. Your email address is shown in the directory only if you expressly enable that option; by default it is not shown. The legal basis is your consent.
- Messages between professionals. If you use the contact form on a profile, we process your identity and the content of the message in order to deliver it to the recipient, who receives it by email with your address as the reply-to address. We also process technical data (pseudonymised IP address and browser data) to limit bulk sending and prevent abuse. The legal basis is your consent and the legitimate interest in preventing abuse. Recipients can turn off incoming messages from their profile or through the unsubscribe link in each email.
- Browsing and security. We log technical request data (IP address, browser, date and time) and use a technical session cookie to keep you signed in. The purpose is to ensure the security and proper operation of the Site, on the basis of Mundo Sano’s legitimate interest.
- Enquiries. If you write to our contact addresses, we process the data you provide in order to answer your enquiry, on the basis of your consent.
How long we keep data
We do not keep personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes described.
- Account: while it remains active and until you close it (from “Close my account” in your profile). Once confirmed, your personal data is erased: there is no longer an account.
- Directory conversations: if you close your account, they are kept without your personal data (attributed to “Deleted account”), because they are part of the other person’s conversation. The technical data of those messages (pseudonymised IP and browser) is erased.
- Directory messages and committee consultations: the content is kept for 24 months from sending, and the technical data (pseudonymised IP, browser and the profile copy attached to a consultation) for 12 months. Afterwards they are erased automatically.
- Cookies: for their stated lifetime (the session cookie lasts 24 hours).
Who can access the data
Personal data may be processed by:
- Mundo Sano staff and collaborators who administer the Network, where necessary for their work.
- Technology providers that process data on behalf of Mundo Sano (hosting, content management and email delivery), under data processing agreements. Some providers may be located outside the European Economic Area; in that case safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission apply.
- Administrative or judicial authorities, where required by law.
We do not sell your data
Mundo Sano does not sell or transfer personal data for commercial purposes.
Cookies
The Site uses only necessary technical cookies: the session cookie and, for the editorial team, the draft preview cookie. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, so you will not see a consent banner. You can find more information in the Cookie Policy.
Your rights
You may exercise at any time your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability, as well as withdraw any consent you have given.
To exercise them, write to dataprotection@insudpharma.com with the subject “EXERCISE OF RIGHTS” and state the right you wish to exercise. You can close your account yourself from “Close my account” in your profile (it is immediate and permanent); if you prefer, write to atendiendochagas@mundosano.org.
If you believe we have not processed your data correctly, you may lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority: in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (www.aepd.es); in Argentina, the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (www.argentina.gob.ar/aaip).
Minors
The Site is intended for health professionals over 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
Information security
Mundo Sano applies reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of personal data. If a security breach may affect your rights, we will inform you in accordance with applicable law.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal or service changes. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
